Building for the Future

Our Calling

The Hebrew word avodah (עֲבוֹדָה) means work, worship, and service—a calling that defines everything we do. Avodah Educational Services exists to glorify God through Christ-centered education that nurtures the spiritual, academic, and personal growth of every child entrusted to us.

Founded in Central Maine, Avodah is a non-profit, full-time K–12 Christian school providing families with a faith-rooted educational option that partners closely with parents and the community. While operating within East Auburn Baptist Church, Avodah is non-denominational and independently governed, welcoming families from across the region who share a desire for Christ-centered education.

As God continues to grow this ministry, we believe He is calling Avodah into a new season—one that requires a permanent, purpose-built facility to support the work He is doing now and for generations to come.

History: Avodah School Opens

On August 25, 2025 we opened the Avodah doors at 560 Park Avenue. Our priority was to provide children with an excellent education in a nurturing, holistic environment with a biblical worldview. During evenings and weekends we worked to create a student-centered educational approach which would flex with academic and spiritual needs, as well as developed policies and protocols to give long-term stability to our school. Year one has been a resounding success. We are ready for the next step! Read on below to learn about our next steps and please consider making a donation:

People are hearing about Avodah’s innovative approach to education. Families learn about our school and knock on our door. But our cramped rented space at East Auburn Baptist Church is no longer adequate. As more families hope to enroll their children in Avodah, we are facing difficult acceptance decisions and are forced to turn students away. We are frequently faced with difficult decisions on how to use our very limited space. Our own space would allow us to serve students and families with more educational opportunities

God’s Call and Our Vision

Avodah exists because we believe God is actively at work—calling His people to educate children, strengthen families, and build communities grounded in faith, truth, and love.

For years, Avodah has faithfully stewarded the mission God has entrusted to us: to educate children, support families, enhance our community, impact generations, and advance God’s kingdom. As the ministry has grown, so too has our understanding that God is inviting us into a new season—one that requires a permanent home designed specifically for the work He is doing among us.

The Building for Generations Campaign is a prayerful response to that call. Our goal is to raise $3 million to build a Christ-centered school and ministry facility in Maine, creating a place where faith and learning flourish together and where God’s presence is evident in every classroom, gathering, and relationship formed.

Why This Matters Now

Scripture calls us to “train up a child in the way he should go” (Proverbs 22:6). Families today are seeking more than academic instruction—they are seeking environments where children are formed spiritually, emotionally, and morally, grounded in biblical truth and surrounded by a loving, faith-filled community.

Avodah’s current facilities limit our ability to:

  • Welcome additional students

  • Expand educational and discipleship programs

  • Host ministry gatherings and community outreach

  • Create a space intentionally designed for Christ-centered education

We believe God is preparing the way for Avodah to grow—not for our name or recognition, but so that more lives may be shaped for His glory.

The Vision: A School Built on Faith

The new Avodah facility will be far more than a building. It will be a house of learning, discipleship, and community, intentionally designed to support God’s work for decades to come.

The facility will include:

  • Dedicated classrooms for full-time Christian education

  • Areas for school gatherings and community events

  • Safe, welcoming environments that reflect excellence, care, and stewardship

  • Infrastructure that allows the ministry to grow responsibly as God leads

This building will stand as a testimony to God’s provision and the faithfulness of His people—a place where children are taught not only how to learn, but how to live out their faith.

The Eternal Impact

In the Lives of Children
Students will be nurtured in an environment that integrates faith with learning, helping them develop strong character, wisdom, and a personal relationship with Christ.

In the Lives of Families
Parents will be supported by a Christ-centered community that walks alongside them, encouraging faith at home and strengthening families together.

In the Community
The Avodah campus will serve as a place of gathering, ministry, and outreach—extending God’s love beyond the classroom and into the broader community.

For Generations to Come
This building is an investment not only in today’s students, but in generations yet unborn—ensuring that Avodah’s mission continues long after we are gone.
